Jennifer Brummet, LPC - Primary Therapist
Jennifer has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Arizona State University
and a Masters in Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Upon graduation, Jennifer
worked as the Lead Therapist of the Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Program.
While working in this program Jennifer realized the importance of family involvement
in the recovery process and implemented the first family involvement portion of
the IOPSA program. Jennifer has a background working in both the IOP-CD (Chemical
Dependency) program and the General Outpatient Clinic. She has extensive experience
working with children and adolescents ranging in age from 2 years old to 17 years
old and has also worked with adults. Jennifer takes a solution focused, strength
based approach when working with children and their families.
Jennifer is a trained Clinical Supervisor and assists her clinical team in meeting
and exceeding AZBBHE requirements for licensure. Jennifer supervises the clinical
interns and recently joined the University of Phoenix Advisory Council. Jennifer
has recently attended trainings to include Self-Mutilation, Multi-Cultural issues
in Clinical Supervision, Ethics and Law, Intensive Clinical Eating Disorder Training.
She is also a pending member of the Arizona Counselor's Association and participates
annually in the South West Schools Conference.

Sarah Hanchett, LCSW
Sarah Hanchett has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development from Brigham Young University and a Masters of Social Work from Arizona State University. Sarah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is currently our Lead Therapist. She has worked with adolescents in a wilderness treatment program and then as a manager of a therapeutic group home for girls. She provided therapy for families in crisis to assist in keeping their children in the home and to reunify children with their families. Main areas of clinical focus include depression, anxiety, family communication, adoption issues, and children who have experienced trauma, such as physical or sexual abuse. Sarah has attended the Southwest Schools Conference from 2007-2009 and has recently attended trainings to include attachment-based trauma resolution for children, emotional incest, trauma fragmentation, The Seven Challenges®(drug and alcohol management), anger management, suicide and self-mutilation: stopping the pain, ethics and law.

Katrina Sherrill, LAC
Katrina J. Sherrill, MA, LAC, has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Arizona
State University and earned her graduate degree in mental health counseling from
Argosy University. Prior to joining the VCS team, she worked as a therapist for
teen mothers and their children.
This experience included facilitating in house therapeutic groups often focusing
on Substance Abuse and trauma. In addition to providing therapeutic services, she
also served as a mentor and delivery coach for many teens who had limited support.
Additionally, Katrina has worked with children ages 3-7 developing appropriate therapeutic
interventions and using play therapy techniques. She is an active member of the
American Counseling Association, is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, the
7 Challenges Substance Abuse Curriculum, crisis prevention and intervention, and
was chosen Who’s Who Among Professional Women in 2006.

James Purviance, LAMFT
James Purviance; MSC, LAMFT, has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Arizona
State University and earned his graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from
the University of Phoenix. James has experience working with a wide range of individuals
age ranging from young children to adults and families with mental health issues,
along with adolescents and their families in an Intensive Outpatient setting. James
has special interests working with families dealing with chronic medical conditions
and adults, adolescents, children and families dealing with stage of life adjustments
and transitions.
James is an associate member of the American Association of Marriage and Family
Therapists and has completed specialty training in Sandtray Therapy level I in 2007,
level II in 2008, and a weeklong Medical Family Therapy Intensive from the University
of Rochester in 2009.

Chrissy Barth
Chrissy Barth, RD, CFT, RYT received her undergraduate degree in human nutrition
with a concentration in dietetics from Arizona State University and completed her
dietetic internship with the Paradise Valley Unified School District. She is currently
a graduate candidate at ASU studying nutrition.
Chrissy has over 5 years experience as a registered dietitian (RD), a certified
fitness trainer (CFT), and registered yoga teacher (RYT). Chrissy received her 200-RYT
through At One Yoga and is registered with Yoga Alliance.
She is passionate about teaching others about optimal health and wellness by taking
the “confusion out of nutrition.” Chrissy’s expertise includes high performance
nutrition for the athlete and executive, the nutritional management of eating disorders
and disordered eating, youth nutrition, and weight management She is an Adjunct
Faculty member at Paradise Valley and Glendale Community Colleges where she teaches
human nutrition, sports nutrition, and weight management theory.
Chrissy was Arizona’s Young Dietitian of the Year in 2007 and has been listed in
the Who’s Who of Executives and Professionals- Dietetics Honor’s Edition. Chrissy
serves as a media spokesperson and has appeared on both national and local news
programs. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association and serves as the
Consultation and Private Practice Chair of the Arizona Dietetic Association-Central
board. She is also a member of Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutritionists,
Dietitians in Communications and Business, and Nutrition Entrepreneurs.

Junior - Pet Therapist
Junior is a 3 year old mixed breed, adopted from the AZ Humane society.
He is a
distinguished member of Delta Society. He and the Clinical Director have been registered
pet partners for two years.
Junior is a valued staff member of Valley Clinical services and many of the consumers
and their families look forward to seeing him. He is often the guest to many groups
run by Valley Clinical Services and he has brought many smiles to children and their
families. Junior’s favorite past times are playing with squeaky toys and napping!

Rachel Tombaugh, LAC - Family Therapist
Rachel has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with emphases in Women's and
Family Studies from Arizona State University, and a Master's of Professional Counseling
from Ottawa University Phoenix. Prior to her clinical experience, Rachel worked
as the director of a foster care program serving children and adults with developmental
disabilities and has considerable experience working in the child welfare arena.
Rachel has also worked as a Primary Therapist at a renowned inpatient treatment facility
for women suffering from eating and anxiety disorders, and currently is a therapist
for children and adolescents and their families. Rachel enjoys working with women,
children, and adolescents in individual, group, and family settings utilizing a
variety of approaches including expressive arts and experiential activities. Rachel
is additionally certified in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy through the Equine Assisted
Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA). Rachel attended the Southwest Schools
conference in 2009, as well as Level I and II EAGALA conferences. Rachel is a member
of the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and EAGALA.

Edwin Perez M.D. - Consulting Medical Professional/Psychiatrist
Dr. Perez graduated from Tulane University in 1984 with a bachelors of science with
honors in biology. Dr. Perez attended medical school in Puerto Rico and graduated
in 1989. Dr. Perez then moved to Miami where he completed residencies in Pediatrics
and Psychiatry. Upon completion of Residency, Dr. Perez moved to Houston where he
completed Fellowships in consult-liaison psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry
at Baylor College of Medicine and University of Texas Medical School.
During his time in Houston he was commissioned as a Lieutenant Commander in the
U.S. Navy. After completing his Fellowships, he moved to Okinawa, Japan. Following
his tour in Japan he received orders to Portsmouth Naval Medical Center where he
became Training Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry
Division Head. After completing his tour Dr. Perez moved to Phoenix in 2005. He
continues to be an active member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent
Psychiatrists and practices as an outpatient child and adolescent psychiatrist with
special interest in ADHD and Autistic Disorder.

Julie Neenan, M.Ed, BCBA
Julie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts. She completed her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Northern Arizona University.
Julie completed graduate courses from University of North Texas to meet the BACB requirements for the BCBA certification. Julie is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Julie has worked for school districts overseeing in-school suspension programs, training staff in Positive Behavior Support approaches and collecting student and classroom behavioral data.
Additionally, she has worked for several years as a behavioral consultant managing ABA-based intervention programs for children with Autism and related disorders. Julie has experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments, ABLLS-based and VB-MAPP based assessments and then using the data collected to develop behavior treatment plans. Julie attends yearly Behavior Analysis conferences.

LeeAnn Yoder, BS, BHT
LeeAnn has completed her Bachelors of Science in Behavioral Health, with a Minor
in Family Life Education from Southwestern College. She is currently enrolled in
the Positive Behavior Support Program through NAU and plans to receive a BCBA certification
in two years.
LeeAnn has worked at YETC for nearly 3 years, Behavior Coaching and supervising
as a Team Lead with Project Next Step (PNS). She is currently Behavior Coaching
with the Spectrum Specialty Team (SST), which serves children with Autism and their
families. She has experience working with high needs children and families struggling
with placement concerns, attachment disorders, aggressive/ self-harming behaviors,
substance abuse, and social deficits.
LeeAnn has training in the Seven Challenges program, has attended a number of conferences
on Autism, and has completed ongoing training in Positive Behavior Support.
